Insertion of the M-16 Cyclic Rate Reducer Assembly
1. Place the small end of the buffer into the slightly tapered end of the buffer spring.
2. Place the selector in the "semi" position, with the hammer in the "cocked" position.
3. With an empty buffer tube, position the insertion/extraction tool over the buffer-retaining plunger and threads in the lower receiver.
4. While holding the insertion/extraction tool in place with your thumb, insert the buffer assembly into the buffer tube.
5. Fully insert the buffer assembly into the buffer tube past the insertion/extraction tool.
6. Using your thumb, ease the insertion/extraction tool into the "ring" position on the index finger.
7. Release tension on the buffer assembly, allowing it to be held in place by the buffer retaining plunger.
