The Magpul MIAD grip is a drop in replacement for the pistol grip on the M16/M4/AR15 series of rifles.
It features removable and replaceable front and rear panels for a custom fit over multiple hand sizes.
Grip features improved ergonomics and positive anti-slip texture on both sides and rear back-strap.
Make sure gun is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction.
Instructions:
STEP 1: Turn rifle upside down. Remove original grip per armory guidelines, taking care not to lose fire control selector/safety detent parts held in place by the grip. Remove selector spring leaving selector detent in the receiver.
STEP 2: Only perform this step if installing the F4-Trigger guard front strap included in the MIAD Full Kit. Remove trigger guard per armory guidelines taking care not to damage lower receiver or lose OEM parts.
STEP 3: Remove MIAD Core per instructions on card included in your kit. Remove small plastic bag containing installation parts (pan-head mounting screw and optional use back strap roll pin.
STEP 4: If desired, the pre-installed F2 front strap can be replaced by sliding the front strap upward off the MIAD body. Be careful, the top edges of the MIAD front strap can be sharp!
STEP 5: If a different strap is desired, remove installed unit by depressing the back strap locking tab to the rear and sliding the back strap downward. Tight back straps can be tapped on a hard surface for easier removal.
STEP 6: Verify selector detent is in receiver and install selector spring in main body right side top hole. Fit MIAD onto lower receiver, making sure the selector spring engages the receiver hole without binding.
STEP 7: Using a flathead screwdriver, install the supplied pan-head screw through the front hole and hand tighten to receiver. A locking compound is factory applied to prevent loosening. DO NOT re-use original mounting screw/lock washer.
STEP 8: This step is for F4 trigger guard front strap only. Align front hole on trigger guard with hole on lower receiver. Using 1/16" hex key, install 5-40x5/16" set screw. Screw will form its own threads, requiring additional force.
STEP 9: IMPORTANT! Test safety selector and general function prior to test firing. After installation, a full function check of working components should be conducted.
